Book Club Discussion! (Silent Spring by Rachel Carson)

At the Bike Kitchen - in the student room behind the shop! Please enter through the regular shop entrance.
6.30-8pm :)

Once a month, we'll gather to chat about a selected book and its themes together. Everyone is welcome!

After a brief introduction to the main themes of the book, we will read selected excerpts and discuss them together. While it is helpful to have read the book beforehand it is not required!
We'll send you some info about the book a few days before the Book Club to help get the discussion going!

Silent Spring, by Rachel Carson, became an influential work in the modern environmental movement. Published in 1962, the book addressed the harmful effects of pesticides on the environment and called for their greater regulation.

You can find a copy of this book at UBC Library or VPL. If you're having trouble finding it, feel free to reach out to us at programs@thebikekitchen.ca, we'd be happy to help!!
