brief introduction to the main themes of the book
\, we will read selected excerpts and discuss them
together. While it is helpful to have read the bo
ok beforehand it is not required!
\n We'll send you some info about the boo
k a few days before the Book Club to help get the
discussion going!

\n Silent Spring\, by Rachel Carson\, becam
e an influential work in the modern environmental
movement. Published in 1962\, the book addressed t
he harmful effects of pesticides on the environmen
t and called for their greater regulation.

\n You can find a copy of this book at
UBC Library or VPL. If you're having trouble find
